Map and route of Hales to Thurlton
An absolute cracker of a walk, taking us to places that are on our doorstep and that I for one had never visited. Unfortunately the weather was awful with heavy 'mizzle' and with our normal leader, Martin out of sorts, only three of us did the walk. Nevertheless we took the 0845 bus from Thurlton Queens Head and started the walk from near the Garden House in Hales. The weather soon cleared and although the ground underfoot was a tad muddy we made good progress. I suppose the highlight of the walk was seeing a rather large owl which just seemed to big to be a barn owl? Given the weather the accompanying photos are a bit grim but give a flavour. Oh! and we spotted the first daffodils and even a hedge coming into leaf
